health-nightIn an effort to help families gain valuable information on staying healthy this school year, Thurmont Primary and Thurmont Elementary Schools joined forces on October 13 to host a fun and educational event, Health Night.

Parents were invited to attend the interactive event, which consisted of four rotations of fifteen-minute presentations lead by different respected experts in the health fields.

Health Night, which included talks on asthma, food allergies, nutrition and parent power, and colds and flu, was free of charge to all parents of Thurmont Primary and Thurmont Elementary Schools’ students.

Karen Locke, principal of Thurmont Primary School, thought the night was well received and offered a lot of insight on empowering parents with regard to health issues that students and families may face. “The evening was very positive. We were asked to repeat it again in the spring.”
